The facts

Greenhouse is one of the leading enterprise applicant tracking and recruiting platforms, used by more than 7,500 companies including HubSpot, Anthropic, Gong, Coinbase and the NFL. The platform has built its reputation on structured interviewing methodology, scorecard-based hiring decisions and a large integration ecosystem. It covers sourcing, CRM, structured interviewing, scheduling, onboarding and reporting in one system. Greenhouse AI adds candidate matching, AI sourcing, AI-assisted job descriptions, AI scorecards with bias indicators, and conversational agents for screening and scheduling. Greenhouse completed its acquisition of Ezra AI Labs on May 27, 2026, which is the basis of its Voice AI capability. Greenhouse runs a large partner directory on its own integrations subdomain rather than a single marketing page. Confirmed partner listings include Checkr, Asurint and ClearStar for background checks, plus CoderPad, Criteria and Karat for assessment. BrightHire covers video interviewing, GoodTime and Calendly scheduling, Findem sourcing, BambooHR and Rippling HRIS, and DocuSign document signing. Slack, Zoom, Google Meet, LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and Zapier cover collaboration and distribution. Greenhouse also publishes developer APIs, including the Harvest API, Job Board API, Onboarding API and Ingestion API, plus recruiting and onboarding webhooks. Greenhouse MCP shipped in July 2026 and is currently in open beta. It gives teams a governed way to connect approved AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini to Greenhouse data, with permissioned access so organizations control what information is exposed. Access is gated: MCP is available to Site Admins only, and only on the newer Core, Plus and Pro tiers. Greenhouse positions it for reporting insights, candidate and job context summaries, internal copilots and cross-system workflows. Pricing is quote-only across all three plans, with no rates published on any Greenhouse surface and none listed on its G2 profile, so currency is moot. Core provides structured hiring with sourcing, interview kits, scorecards, scheduling, reporting and SSO. Plus adds advanced compliance, custom workflows, multi-brand support and expanded analytics. Pro adds enterprise governance, advanced security controls and dedicated support. Every tier requires a demo and a sales conversation before any pricing is disclosed. What a buyer cannot establish before contacting sales is the actual cost, the seat or volume bands, or which tier unlocks MCP and the newer AI features. Voice AI is a separate add-on rather than being included. Greenhouse is not suited to early-stage companies under 50 employees that need lightweight hiring tooling. The structured interviewing methodology pays off when hiring volume justifies scorecard discipline and cross-functional alignment, which is rarely the case on very small teams. Companies that want published pricing before a sales call should evaluate Ashby, Workable or Lever. Teams that need autonomous AI recruiting from day one should evaluate Humanly or hireEZ alongside Greenhouse rather than expecting Greenhouse AI alone to match purpose-built AI recruiting tools. Q3 2026 state: Greenhouse MCP is in open beta, and recent releases include Voice AI, Greenhouse Analytics, Notetaker, a Candidate Question Agent and OIDC identity-provider support. Greenhouse was named Best Software for Enterprise in G2's 2026 awards. Security is documented on its security page with SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, GDPR and CCPA, and its AI principles page adds ISO 27701 for privacy. Greenhouse states customer data is never used for AI training, and that its proprietary models are trained only on anonymized, de-identified data such as job location, time-to-hire metrics and scheduling availability.

Pros & Limitations

Editorial assessment

Pros

  • Structured interviewing methodology is the category reference point, with scorecard-based hiring operationalized across more than 7,500 companies including HubSpot, Anthropic, Gong, Coinbase and the NFL.
  • A large partner directory covering background checks, assessment, video interviewing, scheduling, sourcing, HRIS and collaboration, backed by published developer APIs including the Harvest, Job Board, Onboarding and Ingestion APIs.
  • Greenhouse MCP, in open beta since July 2026, gives approved AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini permissioned access to Greenhouse data, which few enterprise ATS platforms currently offer.

Limitations

  • Quote-only pricing across Core, Plus and Pro, with no rates published on any surface and a mandatory sales conversation before any cost visibility, which rules Greenhouse out for buyers whose procurement requires upfront pricing comparison.
  • MCP access is gated to Site Admins and only on the newer Core, Plus and Pro tiers, and it remains in open beta rather than general availability.
  • Greenhouse delivers most of its value only when recruiting teams adopt the structured interviewing methodology, which requires process change and recruiter training well beyond technical installation, and Voice AI is a paid add-on rather than an included capability.

Autonomous rateGreenhouse AI handles candidate sourcing, screening and interview scheduling within configured guardrails and recruiter-approved parameters, and AI scorecards surface bias indicators for human review. Greenhouse MCP, in open beta since July 2026, lets approved external AI tools read Greenhouse data through permissioned connections controlled by a Site Admin.
