It serves individual knowledge workers, engineering teams, and enterprises rather than any single vertical. Agentic surface: ChatGPT Agent completes multi-step web tasks such as form submission, booking, and research compilation, pausing only for logins, payments, and other sensitive actions. Deep Research runs autonomous 5 to 30 minute investigations across many sources and returns cited reports. Tasks execute scheduled work between sessions, Codex handles software engineering, and Custom GPTs let teams deploy domain-specific assistants without code. Integration depth: the Business plan connects natively to Microsoft 365, Google Drive, Slack, GitHub, Linear, and Figma, with more in the app directory and a connector registry on Enterprise. The API, GPT Actions, and Custom GPTs extend reach to CRMs, databases, and internal tools. ChatGPT connects out to external MCP servers as a client, but OpenAI does not publish its own MCP server for other systems to connect into.
