Granola

Granola is an AI meeting notepad from Granola, Inc., based in London and co-founded by CEO Chris Pedregal. It captures audio directly from the device instead of sending a bot into the call, so it works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and any other meeting app, and it runs on Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android and Apple Watch for in-person meetings. The user jots rough notes during the meeting and Granola enhances them from the transcript afterward. Audio is deleted after transcription, and only the transcript and notes are stored. Granola transcribes with providers including Deepgram and AssemblyAI and writes notes with OpenAI and Anthropic models, and Granola Chat runs on current Claude, GPT and Gemini models. In March 2026 it raised a $125 million Series C at a $1.5 billion valuation, led by Index Ventures with Kleiner Perkins. Granola names Vanta, Gusto, Thumbtack, Asana, Cursor, Lovable, Decagon and Mistral AI among its customers and publishes case studies from Vanta, Brex, Zapier and Vercel. Recording starts manually for each meeting, because Granola does not auto-join or auto-record calls. Once a meeting is captured, notes, action items and the transcript are produced without further input. Granola Chat answers questions across meetings with citations and can draft follow-up emails, Slack messages and Google Calendar events, with a review step before anything is sent or created. Recipes are saved prompts that run on one meeting or a set of meetings with a click. Business and Enterprise add pre-meeting briefs, which summarize open threads and context as a meeting starts, and drafted follow-up emails after external meetings. Granola's own integrations are Slack, Notion, HubSpot, Attio, Affinity, Zapier, Gmail, Google Calendar and Outlook. Slack works on the free Basic plan and the rest need Business or Enterprise. Salesforce, Pipedrive, Asana, Jira and Linear connect through Zapier, and the pricing page lists Salesforce among the advanced integrations on Enterprise. The Granola MCP server is an official connector in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Cursor, Lovable, Bolt.new, Figma, Replit, Manus and v0. Over MCP, Basic users reach personal notes from the last 30 days, Business users reach personal and public workspace notes, and Enterprise admins choose the scopes. A REST API with webhooks is included on Business and Enterprise. Pricing is in USD, per user per month. Basic is free, with unlimited AI meeting notes, 30 days of note history in the app, AI chat with automatic model selection, shared folders, templates, Recipes, the Slack integration and multi-language support. Business costs $14 per user per month, billed monthly, and adds unlimited history, model selection in chat, the other integrations, API access, pre-meeting briefs, follow-up emails and centralized billing. Enterprise is $35 per user per month and can be bought in the app, with annual contracts through sales, and adds SSO for teams of 50 or more users, SCIM, workspace-wide admin, retention and training controls, usage analytics, an audit API and HIPAA-compliant workspaces. Accepted startups and students get 12 months of Business free. Granola's trust center lists SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA, and its privacy policy addresses the CCPA. Granola reached SOC 2 Type 2 in July 2025. HIPAA coverage requires Enterprise and a signed Business Associate Agreement, which Granola says is not available on Basic or Business. Notes and transcripts are stored encrypted in a US-hosted AWS environment. Granola trains its own models on anonymized customer data by default, with a per-user opt-out on every plan, and Enterprise workspaces are opted out by default. Granola states that third-party providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic may not train on customer data. Granola suits people in back-to-back meetings, including founders, investors, sales and product teams, who want notes without a visible bot in the call. Teams that want a bot to join calendar meetings automatically, or that need a recording to play back, should consider Fathom, Fireflies.ai or tl;dv. Teams that want continuous screen and app history captured on their own machine, rather than notes scoped to meetings, should look at screenpipe. Current state Q3 2026: Granola for Android launched on July 1, 2026 and Granola for Apple Watch on July 28, 2026. Multi-language transcription now covers 31 languages on desktop and 17 on mobile. The Series C release in March 2026 added Spaces, personal and enterprise APIs and an updated MCP server, and HIPAA-compliant workspaces are available on Enterprise.
