Lovable is the AI-powered full-stack app builder that generates production-ready web applications from natural-language descriptions, with native integration to Supabase for backend infrastructure and Lovable Cloud for managed backend services. Founded in 2023 in Stockholm as GPT Engineer, Lovable rebranded in December 2024 and has grown into one of the most widely adopted vibe-coding platforms: the company reached $100 million in annual recurring revenue by July 2025, raised $200 million at a $1.8 billion valuation in the same month, and raised a further $330 million in December 2025. The core product generates React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS applications with real backend infrastructure: Supabase provisioned automatically for database, auth, and row-level security, with Lovable Cloud launched in September 2025 as an alternative managed backend that requires no Supabase account or configuration. Agent Mode, launched in June 2025, enables Lovable to autonomously plan, execute, and iterate on complex multi-step builds without per-turn developer direction. Subagents, launched in May 2026, allow the platform to spawn parallel agents for research, exploration, and project search during complex builds. The platform integrates Wiz native security scanning (May 2026) that surfaces findings before deployment, alongside automatic RLS policy scanning and dependency vulnerability analysis as part of the default build workflow. Integration depth is exceptional. The integrations layer includes: GitHub sync for code export and version control, Supabase for database and auth, Lovable Cloud for managed backend, MCP server support (November 2025) for connecting external tools, Google connectors (May 2026), Figma design import, Stripe for payments, Shopify for ecommerce, Resend for email, Perplexity, ElevenLabs, Firecrawl, Miro, and Wiz security scanning. Pricing uses a credit-based model with per-workspace rather than per-user billing. Free at $0/month includes 5 daily credits (up to 30/month), workspace-private projects, unlimited collaborators, and 5 lovable.app subdomains. Pro at $25/month adds 100 monthly credits plus 5 daily credits (up to 150/month), credit rollovers, on-demand credit top-ups, unlimited lovable.app domains, custom domains, Lovable badge removal, and user roles and permissions. Business at $50/month adds SSO, a security center, internal publish controls, team workspaces, personal projects, design templates, and role-based access control. Enterprise pricing is custom and adds volume-based credit pricing, SCIM provisioning, dedicated support, onboarding services, custom connectors, publishing controls, sharing controls, and audit logs. Annual billing is available at discounted rates. Student pricing offers up to 50% off Pro. Lovable is not the right fit for developers who need full control over the generated codebase from day one or who want to deploy to infrastructure they control. Generated apps are production-grade but optimized for Lovable's own deployment layer: teams that want to migrate to AWS or a self-managed stack need to export to GitHub and rework deployment configuration manually. The credit-based model creates cost unpredictability for iterative development: Pro's 100 monthly credits can exhaust within days for complex multi-cycle builds. Teams that prefer terminal-based or IDE-embedded agentic coding should evaluate Cursor at $20/month or Claude Code at $20/month instead. Current state Q2 2026: Lovable acquired Molnett, a platform engineering company, on June 1 to expand infrastructure capabilities. Subagents launched May 27, enabling parallel research and exploration during complex builds. Chat Mode and a follow-up questions tool shipped, allowing the agent to ask clarifying questions before building. New projects default to server-side rendering via TanStack Start as of May 13. Enhanced security scanning with scan profiles, security memory, and scheduling launched June 1. Custom domains, Semrush-powered SEO research (free through August 2026), and design guidance for visual direction are now available. The platform experienced reliability incidents in April and June 2026, including Cloud project creation issues and file upload disruptions. Lovable is SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and ISO 27001 certified. Customer data is not used to train Lovable models under any plan tier.
