Co-founded by Krish Ramineni and Sam Udotong, it sends a Notetaker bot to join meetings across Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Webex, transcribing in real time in 100-plus languages with speaker detection. It then generates AI summaries, action items, and conversation intelligence within minutes, and after the initial calendar connection capture and CRM sync run automatically with no per-meeting action. Fireflies reached a $1 billion valuation through a tender offer and reports deployment at 75 percent of Fortune 500 companies per internal figures. The integration ecosystem covers 60-plus tools: Salesforce and HubSpot for CRM sync, Slack for recap distribution, Notion, Asana, Linear, Trello, and Jira for task sync, and Zapier and Make for workflow automation. Fireflies also runs an official MCP server, and in August 2025 became the first AI meeting tool in Claude's MCP directory, letting Claude, ChatGPT, and Devin query meeting data directly. Fireflies is not the best fit for revenue intelligence teams needing full pipeline forecasting and deal inspection: Gong layers call-coaching scorecards, deal-risk signals, and forecast analytics that Fireflies Business does not replicate. Teams that want bot-free capture as the default should note that Fireflies leads with the Notetaker bot, though a Chrome extension offers bot-free recording, and Fathom offers generally available bot-free capture with confirmed HIPAA as an alternative for healthcare teams.
