Workato

Workato is an enterprise integration and automation platform that now positions itself as a control and execution layer for enterprise AI. It serves IT, operations, and engineering teams that connect applications, automate business processes, and give AI agents governed access to business actions across their systems. Workato was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Integration Platform as a Service (March 2026), reports more than 10,000 customers, and says it is trusted by over half of the Fortune 500. Enterprise MCP packages recipes, APIs, and existing MCP servers as governed MCP servers that MCP-compatible agents such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor can call, with every agent action authenticated, authorized, and auditable. Agent Studio is a low-code studio for designing, testing, and deploying AI agents, and Workato ships pre-built agents it calls Genies for sales, IT, support, customer experience, HR, and marketing. AIRO, generally available since July 30, 2026, is a multi-agent system inside the platform that plans, builds, and monitors integrations and automations from a stated business goal, and it also works inside Claude Code, Codex, and other MCP clients. Otto by Workato, an autonomous agent that carries whole projects from Slack, the web, or SMS, opened to individuals and teams with a free 30-day trial on August 26, 2026. Workato lists 1,200+ pre-built connectors on its pricing page and says the platform reaches more than 14,000 applications. Native connectors include Salesforce, SAP, Workday, ServiceNow, NetSuite, Slack, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace. The platform also covers data orchestration (ETL, ELT, reverse ETL, data pipelines, and event streams), API management, master data management, and embedded integrations that SaaS companies offer to their own customers. Pricing is quote-only across four editions. Standard covers application integration and process automation. Business MCP adds pre-built MCP servers, the AI/MCP Gateway, the Enterprise Skill builder, data integration, and the API platform. Enterprise MCP adds data pipelines, event streams, intelligent document processing, AI by Workato, and enhanced security. Workato ONE adds Agent Studio, the Workato Knowledge Base, and Workato GO for enterprise search and an employee assistant. Usage is metered by capability on top of the edition, pre-packaged Genies and several capabilities are sold as add-ons, and a free trial and a free developer sandbox are available for evaluation. Workato suits enterprise IT and operations teams that want one governed platform for integration, automation, and AI agents across a large application estate. Teams that want automation they can sign up for and buy without a sales process should consider Zapier or Make.com. Teams that need to self-host an open-source automation engine should consider n8n, and security teams that want AI SOC automation should consider Torq or Tines. Current state Q3 2026: Workato made AIRO generally available on July 30, 2026, opened Otto by Workato to individuals and teams on August 26, 2026, and opened a national office and data center in South Korea in September 2026. Its trust center lists SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 42001, HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, CCPA, NIST, IRAP, DORA, and NIS 2. Its services privacy policy says data received from connected third-party services is not used to train generalized AI or machine learning models without the customer's prior written consent. Its AI by Workato documentation says user data is not used for training.
