Enterprise social media management with AI-powered scheduling, listening, and analytics. Standard $199/seat/mo, Professional $299/seat/mo, Advanced $399/seat/mo annual.

Sprout Social is a category-defining social media management platform serving mid-market and enterprise marketing teams who need unified scheduling, social listening, engagement, and analytics across major social networks. Launched in 2010 and publicly traded on NASDAQ (SPT), Sprout Social has 30,000+ paying customers across SaaS, retail, healthcare, financial services, and consumer brands. Unlike Buffer and Hootsuite, which started as scheduling-first tools, Sprout Social was built from the ground up as a unified social intelligence platform with sentiment analysis, competitor benchmarking, and customer care workflows at its core. Integration depth is one of Sprout Social's defining strengths. Social platform native integrations include Facebook (publishing, analytics, content boosting, reputation and response management), Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp: 11 platforms with bidirectional data sync. CRM integrations cover Salesforce Agentforce Sales (formerly Sales Cloud), Salesforce Agentforce Marketing (formerly Marketing Cloud), and Microsoft Dynamics 365 with contacts, cases, leads, and social personas syncing bidirectionally. Help desk integrations include HubSpot Service Hub and Zendesk. Business Intelligence integrations cover Salesforce Marketing Intelligence Cloud and Tableau. Workflow and DAM category integrations are also supported. No MCP (Model Context Protocol) server support as of June 2026. Pricing: Standard at $199 per seat per month includes 5 social profiles, consolidated inbox, keyword and location monitoring, unlimited AI-generated alt text, and review management. Professional at $299 per seat per month adds unlimited social profiles, message tagging, extensive competitor and paid insights, and Enhance Post by AI Assist. Advanced at $399 per seat per month adds AI chatbot building, Enhance Reply by AI Assist, sentiment analysis in the Smart Inbox and Reviews, Sprout API access, and Helpdesk integrations. Enterprise is custom. Monthly and annual billing both available; displayed prices are annual rates, monthly rates are higher. All plans include a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. At 20 seats on Advanced, annual spend is approximately $96,000 per year. Who Sprout Social is not for: small teams or individual creators who cannot justify $199/seat/month. Teams of 3 to 5 people with a tight budget should evaluate Buffer (from $6/month for individuals, $12/month for essentials) or Hootsuite (from $99/month for 10 social accounts) before considering Sprout. Teams that primarily need AI content generation rather than listening and analytics should evaluate Predis.ai (from $19/month) or Jasper (from $49/month) for content-first workflows. Teams running sophisticated influencer marketing programs at scale will likely still need Grin (from $249/month), Aspire, or CreatorIQ alongside Sprout, as the Influencer Marketing add-on has less maturity than standalone influencer platforms. Teams with basic scheduling needs and no requirement for deep listening, sentiment analysis, or CRM integration will find the per-seat pricing difficult to justify. Current state Q2 2026: Sprout Social published the 2026 Social Intelligence Report as featured research, reinforcing its positioning as a social intelligence platform. The platform added Bluesky to its social integrations, reflecting continued growth of decentralised social networks. AI features across plans include content generation, optimal send time prediction, message classification, AI-generated alt text, and Enhance Post and Reply AI Assist. The Advanced tier AI chatbot builder enables autonomous customer response without per-message human approval. Sprout Social introduced Trellis, an AI agent that interprets social conversation data and surfaces actionable insights for marketing teams. G2 rating stands at 4.4/5 from 6,426 verified reviews as of June 2026. Security certifications include SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and ISO 27001. No MCP server support as of June 2026.

Pros & Limitations

Editorial assessment

Pros

  • Most complete social listening and analytics in the category: sentiment analysis, competitor benchmarking, and customer care workflows go materially deeper than Hootsuite or Buffer, justifying the higher per-seat pricing for analytics-focused teams
  • Native CRM integrations with Salesforce Sales and Marketing Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics, and Zendesk: social interactions sync to customer records bidirectionally, supporting customer care use cases that scheduling-first competitors cannot match
  • Established enterprise reference base across 30,000+ customers in B2B and B2C: buyers find peer references at major organisations, which de-risks procurement decisions for large deployments versus newer challengers

Limitations

  • Per-seat pricing scales steeply for large social teams: $199-$399/seat/month puts a 20-person team at $48K-$96K/year, materially more expensive than Hootsuite (from $99/month for teams) or Buffer (from $12/month for essentials) at comparable scale
  • AI capabilities are expanding with Trellis for insights and chatbot for customer response, but core publishing workflows still require human review and approval: teams expecting fully autonomous social campaign execution should note this is an intelligence-first platform, not an autonomous publishing engine
  • Influencer Marketing add-on is priced separately and has limited maturity versus dedicated platforms: teams running serious influencer programmes at scale typically still need Grin (from $249/month), Aspire, or CreatorIQ alongside Sprout for full workflow coverage
