Semrush is a search visibility and digital marketing platform, and since 28 April 2026 an Adobe company following the completed acquisition of Semrush Holdings. This listing covers the AI capabilities across that platform rather than a single product. The main ones are AI Visibility tracking, which monitors how a brand appears in ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, the SEO Writing Assistant for content optimization, AI competitor and prompt research, and the Semrush MCP server. Buyers are agencies, in-house SEO and content teams, PPC managers and digital PR professionals. The MCP server is the integration that matters most to a team already running AI assistants. It is published at mcp.semrush.com/v2/mcp with setup guides for nine clients: Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini Antigravity 2.0, Antigravity CLI, Perplexity and Lovable. Two limits are worth knowing before buying. It is read-only on projects, exposing all Trends and SEO API data plus read-only Projects API methods, so an agent can pull data but cannot create projects or change settings. And it consumes metered API units rather than being unlimited. Access is included with Semrush One Starter and Pro Plus and with SEO Classic Pro and Guru, each of which carries 50,000 API units. SEO Classic Business and Semrush One Advanced require an API units package on top. Pricing is public and splits across eleven separate toolkit surfaces, each with its own plans. SEO Classic runs Pro at $117.33 per month billed annually against $139 month to month, Guru at $208.33 against $249, and Business at $416.66 against $499. The AI Visibility toolkit is priced separately at $99 per month per domain, and that figure does not change between monthly and annual billing, so there is no annual discount on it. Currency is stated by the vendor: the pricing FAQ reads that all prices are in US dollars. An Enterprise tier is quote-only and reached through a demo request. What the entry price does not buy is the whole AI story, and the split is easy to miss. SEO Classic Pro buys the SEO toolkit, the SEO Writing Assistant and MCP access, but it does not include AI Visibility tracking, which is a separate $99 per domain subscription. Buying AI Visibility alone does not include MCP access, because the vendor scopes MCP to Semrush One and SEO Classic plans. On AI Visibility the Base plan tracks ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, while coverage of Grok and Claude is named as an Enterprise capability. Security documentation is thinner than the platform size suggests. Semrush publishes a security page describing its technical and organizational measures, states that its products adhere to GDPR requirements, and holds a PCI DSS Level 1 certificate confirmed annually by an independent QSA audit. It also publishes a shared UpGuard profile for its cybersecurity rating. Neither SOC 2 nor ISO 27001 appears anywhere on that page or in its source, so buyers with a SOC 2 requirement will not find evidence here. On training, the Semrush Artificial Intelligence Services Terms are unusually direct: Semrush does not train or develop its models, and does not allow its third-party providers to train or develop models on user input. Semrush is not the right fit for a solo practitioner who needs keyword research only, where the platform breadth is unused. Teams focused on AI writing and performance prediction rather than a full SEO suite should look at Anyword at $39/mo billed annually or Clearscope at $129/mo, both of which go deeper on content-specific AI than the SEO Writing Assistant. As of Q3 2026 Semrush One has launched as a unified SEO, AI search and GEO product, and the Adobe integration is stated by both companies as ongoing rather than complete.
