ChatterMate is an open-source AI customer support agent released under the Apache-2.0 license. It answers visitor questions from the documents and web pages it is given, hands a conversation to a human with its full context, and can call external services mid-conversation through MCP tools to look up orders, issue refunds or open tickets. It integrates with Slack, Shopify and Jira, and offers webhooks and a REST API. A separate MCP server lets an outside AI agent such as Claude read and manage ChatterMate's agents, workflows and knowledge sources. It can be self-hosted, and teams can bring their own models. Pricing is per agent in USD, with INR shown to visitors in India. Free costs nothing for 1 agent, 1 knowledge source and 300 messages a month. Base is $19 per agent per month billed monthly, or $190 a year, and includes 5 agents and 1,000 messages a month. Pro is $39 per agent per month or $390 a year and adds AI ticketing, lead capture, API access and MCP Tools. The vendor states that every plan is open source and self-hostable.
