AI data analyst agent that answers data questions in Slack and Teams using live pipelines. SOC 2 certified, free tier available, connects to 200+ sources including Snowflake and BigQuery.

Bruin is an end-to-end AI data platform built around an AI data analyst agent that answers questions about your company data in plain English across Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, WhatsApp, Discord, Telegram, email, and the browser from a single gateway. The agent connects to all major data warehouses including Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, Postgres, ClickHouse, DuckDB, and MySQL, plus 200-plus APIs and SaaS tools. Before answering, it reads live pipelines, schema metadata, and quality state — refusing to respond from stale or broken data so every team member gets the same verified answer. Beyond Q&A the agent builds dashboards from plain-language prompts in under two minutes, monitors KPIs, and sends threshold alerts back to the originating channel. Built on the open-source Bruin CLI covering ingestion, SQL and Python pipeline transformation, orchestration, quality checks, and column-level lineage. The CLI is MIT-licensed and self-hostable. Bruin Cloud adds the AI analyst, dashboards, scheduling, and team access controls as a managed service. Free tier includes 50 AI analyst questions per month plus a $100 pipeline compute credit. Paid usage is pay-as-you-go at approximately $10 per GB hour. Enterprise pricing available on request. SOC 2 Type 2 certified with AES-256 encryption, VPC peering, RBAC, audit logs, SAML 2.0 SSO, and GDPR-compliant data residency. Customer data is never used to train models. Trusted by Kyoso Interactive, Digitalmoka, Workhy, Lessmore, and Spektra Games.

Pros & Limitations

Editorial assessment

Pros

  • SOC 2 Type 2 certified with AES-256 encryption, VPC peering, RBAC, audit logs, and SAML 2.0 SSO — enterprise-grade security posture rare at this price point, and customer data is never used to train models.
  • Free tier of 50 AI analyst questions per month plus $100 pipeline compute credit enables genuine hands-on evaluation without a sales call, and the MIT-licensed CLI allows self-hosting the pipeline layer independently.
  • Answers using live pipelines and quality-verified metadata — the agent refuses to respond from stale or broken data, enforcing data integrity across every team channel.

Limitations

  • No dedicated public pricing page — managed cloud is pay-as-you-go at approximately $10 per GB hour after the free tier, difficult to forecast, and enterprise pricing requires contacting sales.
  • No MCP compatibility confirmed on the website or GitHub — teams building MCP-native workflows cannot integrate Bruin as an MCP tool without custom development.
  • Full platform value requires adopting multiple layers including ingestion and pipelines — teams wanting only the AI analyst on top of existing dbt and Fivetran may pay for depth they do not use.
