The facts

Quick BI is an AI-native analytics product from Lingyang, part of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group, positioned as a data analysis agent. In the AIPro edition a user describes a goal in plain language and the agent runs the analysis, from trend tracking and anomaly detection to attribution by region, product and customer type, with multi-turn follow-up questions. Conclusions are traceable to source data and calculation logic, and row-level and column-level permissions keep each user to authorized data. Any analysis can become a scheduled task that runs on a set plan, checks alert thresholds and pushes results to Teams, Slack, email or DingTalk. Installable skills add visual reports, PPTs and data storytelling pages.

Quick BI connects to more than 50 data engines, including relational and Hadoop databases, Alibaba Cloud services such as ApsaraDB RDS, OSS, PolarDB, MaxCompute and AnalyticDB, and databases on AWS, Microsoft Azure, Tencent Cloud and Huawei Cloud. The agent also connects to Snowflake, Salesforce, Notion or any MCP server over STDIO, SSE or Streamable HTTP. In the other direction, the AIPro Skill and the Quick BI MCP service bring its analysis to agent tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and Qianwen Office. Users can choose among LLMs including Qwen, DeepSeek, GLM and Kimi, and an open API and embedded analytics are available.

Prices are in US dollars on the international site, and Alibaba Cloud marks them as for reference. AIPro is $50 per seat per month, or $600 per seat per year, with 150,000 credits per seat per year, a minimum of 10 seats for new customers and increments of 10. Credit top-ups are $2,000 per 1 million credits, valid for a year. The product page offers a 30-day trial with credits. AIPro includes workbooks, 20 visualization screens and 10 GB of extraction capacity. Quick BI Pro, the non-AIPro entry edition, starts at $700 a year for 5 users, and Enterprise Standard at $18,000 a year for 50 users. A role-based Professional edition prices standard users from $360 and viewers from $80.

The AIPro price covers seats and a shared pool of credits, and credit use depends on task complexity and the model chosen. AIPro is available in China (Hong Kong), Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, the US and Germany, with more regions planned. A private-deployment edition lets organizations configure their own large language models and keep data inside their own environment.

Quick BI suits enterprises that want an AI analyst working across their existing databases, including teams already on Alibaba Cloud. Customers named on its site include ZOLOZ, DEVELON and GoTo Group. Teams that want agents answering on a live cloud data warehouse, with the option to embed those answers, should consider ThoughtSpot. Teams that want an AI data analyst working inside Slack or Microsoft Teams should consider Bruin.

Current state Q4 2026: Alibaba Cloud launched AIPro on August 1, 2026 as an AI-native upgrade of Quick BI, building on its Smart Q capabilities. Gartner recognized Alibaba Cloud, for Quick BI, as a Challenger in the June 2026 Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms, its fourth consecutive year in that position and seventh inclusion in the report. The documentation says built-in large models operate with no logging and zero storage, and that customer data is reached through live connections and never written to disk. Alibaba Cloud describes end-to-end encryption with automatic key rotation, single sign-on, IP controls, multi-factor prompts, audit monitoring, and multi-AZ replication with automated failover, and data source connections are built on SSL and Kerberos. Lingyang holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification from BSI covering Quick BI, valid to March 2029, and lists ISO/IEC 27018 for Quick BI as well. Alibaba Cloud's Trust Center adds SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3 reports among its cloud compliance programs. ZOLOZ consolidates more than 100 million daily eKYC checks on Quick BI dashboards, and DEVELON reports 80% less reporting effort after a six-month rollout.
