Editorial Verdict

This page used to be Clari Copilot vs Gong, and the first thing to know is that the product on the left has changed hands and names. Clari and Salesloft completed their merger on December 3, 2025, and on July 14, 2026 Salesloft launched Salesloft Conversation Intelligence. Salesloft's own Statement of Work describes it as Conversation Intelligence, formerly known as Clari Copilot, so reviews and articles from before mid-2026 will use the old name. Both products are now sold as part of a wider platform rather than as standalone call recorders. Gong calls itself a Revenue AI OS and sells Gong Engage, Gong Forecast, Gong Enable and Gong Agents on top of its conversation data. Salesloft Conversation Intelligence sits inside the Salesloft platform alongside Cadence, Deals, Rhythm and Clari Forecast, on one contract. A team already running Salesloft is weighing an addition to a system it uses every day, while a team running neither is comparing two platforms, not two recorders. The clearest product difference is when the guidance reaches the rep. Salesloft says its Conversation Intelligence gives reps real-time AI guidance during calls, with battlecards surfacing while an objection is live, and in September 2026 it described the product as already listening and acting in real time on every call. Gong's emphasis is on what it builds from the conversation record. Its May 2026 release says its proprietary models are trained on revenue-specific data and combined with large language models to turn that record into decisions about deals and the forecast. On scale, Gong reported in May 2026 that its annual recurring revenue had passed $500 million, growing more than 55% year over year. In October 2026 Gong said Gartner had named it a Leader in the 2026 Magic Quadrant for Revenue Action Orchestration for the second year running. Salesloft's own guide to the first edition of that report says Clari was named a Leader and Salesloft a Visionary. Several rows in the table need reading with care. Salesloft is the vendor that publishes a rollout timeline: its Statement of Work estimates 6 to 12 weeks to go live, depending on the products ordered. Gong publishes no implementation time, so the figure in its row, about one month, comes from G2 user data rather than from Gong. That same Statement of Work sets out a migration path from Gong, with a 10 business day window for moving call history across. The data training row compares two different kinds of answer. Gong's trust center says customer data is never used to train generative AI models, a written commitment scoped to generative models. Salesloft's privacy policy, updated in October 2026, rules out AI training only for its website and internal tools and expressly excludes its products, so for call data it says nothing either way, which is why its row reads not disclosed. The review scores are not like for like either. G2 has merged the former Clari profile into the Salesloft platform profile, so the figure beside Salesloft Conversation Intelligence covers the whole Salesloft platform, while Gong's figure is Gong's own profile. Neither vendor publishes a price. Gong's pricing page sets out the structure, per-user licenses plus a platform fee based on the number of users, while Salesloft's pricing link goes straight to a sales form. Both expose an MCP server, so either can feed call and pipeline data into Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot. Gong's MCP is available on any Gong plan and also works as a client, letting Gong's own agents pull data from outside systems. Salesloft's server became native in Claude's connector directory in July 2026. On security, Gong's list is broader, adding HIPAA, ISO 42001 for AI management and PCI DSS, which matters most to regulated buyers. Choose Salesloft Conversation Intelligence if live guidance during calls is the priority, or if the team already runs Salesloft and wants call data in the same system as its cadences and forecast. Choose Gong if the priority is a standalone revenue platform built around the conversation record, with the broader compliance list and MCP access on every plan.

Pros & Limitations

Editorial assessment

Salesloft Conversation Intelligence

Pros

  • ✓Battlecards surface in real time on every call, and coachable moments become tasks in rep workflows while AI summaries, follow-up emails and automated CRM updates remove post-call admin.
  • ✓Calls are searchable, objections can be tracked across a pipeline, calls can be scored automatically, stakeholder, buying group and sentiment insights come out of every conversation, and teams can ask one question across many calls at once.
  • ✓Sits in one platform and one contract with Cadence, Deals, Rhythm and Clari Forecast, and the Salesloft MCP Server exposes live call and pipeline data to external AI assistants.

Limitations

  • –No published pricing of any kind: the pricing page redirects to a Talk to Sales form with no tier names, seat rates or package contents, so a buyer cannot size a deployment without a sales conversation.
  • –Salesloft's help center rules out AI training only for its generative AI sub-processors, unless a customer permits it, so it does not say whether Salesloft's own models use customer data.
  • –The G2 score against this listing belongs to the Salesloft platform profile, so there is no review corpus for this product on its own.

Gong

Pros

  • ✓Built on a large record of real customer conversations: calls, meetings and emails feed the Gong Revenue Graph that forecasting, coaching and agents all work from.
  • ✓Works in both MCP directions on any plan: Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot can reach Gong data, and Gong's agents can use outside MCP servers.
  • ✓A deep independent review record: 6,781 G2 reviews at 4.7, plus a trust center listing SOC 2 Type 2 and five ISO certifications including ISO 42001.

Limitations

  • –No published prices: licenses are per user plus a platform fee based on user count, and the number comes in a proposal after a sales conversation.
  • –Insights depend on capture coverage: calls, meetings and emails that do not reach Gong are missing from deal risk, forecasts and agent context.
  • –Built for revenue organizations rather than individuals; teams that only need call notes synced to a CRM will pay for forecasting and agent features they may not use.
