Meta Muse is Meta's personal AI agent. It launched in the US on September 8, 2026 and is now available to adults 18 and over in the US and Canada. It takes a goal, builds a plan, and keeps working in the background after the app is closed, coming back when something changes or when it needs approval. It can browse the web in its own browser, fill out forms, draft and send email, make purchases, create documents and images, and run recurring work on a schedule, such as a summary every Monday morning. On September 29, 2026 Meta added Muse for Small Business, a set of skills and connectors for owners who want Muse to plan content, improve ads, review sales and expenses, and follow up with customers. Muse runs on Muse Spark, Meta's own model, and people reach it through the iOS and Android apps, the muse.ai website, a Mac app and WhatsApp. Each person's Muse runs in a dedicated cloud virtual machine that Meta calls Muse Secure VM. A separate Sentinel agent on the same machine approves every connector action and every network request, and logins and payment details go into a secure credential store that the agent itself cannot read. Muse asks before sensitive actions such as sending an email or making a purchase, a person can allow an action once, always allow it, or deny it, and an audit trail shows everything Muse has done and plans to do. At checkout Muse pays through Link by Stripe with a one-time card number, and eligible purchases are covered by Link's purchase protections. Integration depth: Facebook, Instagram and Threads connect automatically when they share an Accounts Center with Muse, and Muse for Small Business connects Instagram professional account analytics, Facebook Pages and Meta ad accounts in a few clicks. Meta names Asana, Box, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Shopify, Slack, Stripe and Zoom among the business connectors, alongside connectors such as Gmail, Apple Health and Android SMS. Many connectors can be set to read-only, so Muse retrieves data without taking actions. For a service that is not on the list, Muse can build a custom connector from the service's API and keep its credentials in the secure store. Meta does not review custom connectors. Pricing, in US dollars: Muse is free with a usage limit that refreshes over time. The Power plan is $20 per month with 500M Muse tokens per week, and the Maximum plan is $100 per month with 3B Muse tokens per week. Plans renew monthly on the original purchase date and are bought in the mobile app or at muse.ai with a Meta account. Muse for Small Business runs in the same app on the same plans, and Meta publishes no separate business tier. What the entry price does not buy: the free plan stops at its usage limit until the limit refreshes, and more usage means the $20 Power plan or the $100 Maximum plan. Muse is offered only in the US and Canada, to people 18 and over, and Meta notes that subscription benefits may vary by region and account. Interactions, including information from connected services, are used to train Meta's AI models unless the Data controls setting is switched off, and that change also applies to past interactions. 1Password support, Shop Pay and the Muse Confidential VM are announced but not yet available. Muse suits individuals and small business owners in the US and Canada who run their work across Meta's apps and a set of business tools, and who want an agent that plans and carries out that work with approval steps built in. Businesses that want an agent to answer their customers across WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram should look at Meta Business Agent. Individuals who work mainly in Google Workspace should look at Gemini Spark. Current state Q3 2026: Muse launched on September 8, 2026 and Muse for Small Business followed on September 29, 2026, with both available in the US and Canada. The free plan, Power at $20 per month and Maximum at $100 per month are live, and Meta describes Muse subscriptions as in limited testing. Meta runs a Muse bug bounty paying up to $300,000 for valid reports, and says the Muse Confidential VM, where only the user holds the encryption key, is planned for later this year.

Pros & Limitations

Editorial assessment

Pros

  • ✓Works toward a goal in the background after the app is closed, runs recurring tasks on a schedule, and keeps an audit trail of everything it has done and plans to do.
  • ✓Connects Instagram professional analytics, Facebook Pages and Meta ad accounts in a few clicks, plus business connectors such as Shopify, Stripe, Intuit QuickBooks and Klaviyo, and can build custom connectors from a service's API.
  • ✓Free with a usage limit, and every paid plan is published with its price and weekly allowance: Power at $20 per month and Maximum at $100 per month.

Limitations

  • –Available only to people 18 and over in the US and Canada, and Meta describes Muse subscriptions as in limited testing.
  • –Interactions and information from connected services are used to train Meta's AI models by default, and the Data controls setting must be switched off to opt out.
  • –The free plan pauses at its usage limit until the limit refreshes, paid allowances are stated in Muse tokens per week rather than in tasks or messages, and Meta does not review the custom connectors Muse builds.
