The facts

Factorial is a European AI workforce operations platform combining HRIS, payroll, time tracking, employee documents, performance management, recruiting and AI agents in one system. It targets SMB and mid-market businesses that find enterprise HCM platforms overengineered and US-first competitors weakly localized for European compliance. Operated by EVERYDAY SOFTWARE, S.L. and founded in Barcelona in 2016, Factorial serves 16,000+ companies with particular strength in Spain, France, Germany, Italy and the wider EMEA region. Its positioning is that people and agents work as One. The AI layer is anchored by One, a named agent that works across the platform. One searches company data to answer workforce questions, co-creates surveys, reports and performance reviews, and analyzes patterns in workforce data to produce reports for decision-making. Four further autonomous capabilities sit alongside it: Auto Scheduling for shift building, Live Coaching for real-time feedback during performance conversations, Smart Hiring for AI screening and interview scheduling, and Admin Automation for document processing and compliance workflows. Factorial publishes no autonomous-resolution percentage, and HR teams approve employee-facing decisions, payroll runs and hiring outcomes. The app directory is organized across categories including Payroll, Recruitment and ATS, Talent, Benefits, IT, Travel, ERP and Learning. Its differentiator is country-specific payroll: a3innuva Nomina for Spain and DATEV LODAS for Germany are compliance-grade connectors that US-first competitors do not carry. Sage 200 and Sage Despachos cover accounting, Payflow covers payroll optimization, and TravelPerk syncs employee data for travel. Slack, Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, LinkedIn, Power BI and Teamtailor were all verified present in July 2026. Factorial also publishes a public API for custom integrations, and routes long-tail automation through Zapier rather than building each connector natively. There is no MCP server, re-verified July 2026. Pricing starts at $8 per user per month in USD, verified from the vendor's own G2-supplied pricing data because the site itself states no currency. There are no published tiers. Factorial Core is included on every plan and covers employee directory, onboarding and offboarding, payslip distribution, bulk documents, e-signature, custom notifications and fillable PDFs. Everything beyond that is assembled per customer, and the only route to a full number is a tailored quote. That means the published rate tells a buyer where pricing starts but not what their configuration will cost, which is the main evaluation friction on this platform. Factorial is a poor fit for US-only companies, since European labor law compliance, EMEA multi-country payroll and EU data residency carry no value there. US-focused teams should evaluate Rippling (custom pricing) or Gusto ($49/mo) instead. Module depth also trails specialists at scale: performance management is lighter than Lattice, recruiting is lighter than Greenhouse, and analytics is lighter than Workday HCM for very large enterprises. Organizations above roughly 1,000 employees with complex multi-country requirements should look at enterprise HCM suites. As of Q3 2026, Factorial has evolved from all-in-one HR into an AI workforce operations platform built around One. Security posture verified July 2026 on its SafeBase trust center: SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and GDPR, with SOC 3 and EU-US Data Privacy Framework additionally listed. Its AI runs on private third-party deployments rather than proprietary models, specifically Azure OpenAI GPT-4o hosted in Sweden and an EU-scoped Gemini deployment, and the trust center states that customer data is not used to train or improve those models.

Pros & Limitations

Editorial assessment

Pros

  • Named AI agent One works across the whole platform, searching company data, co-creating surveys and reviews, and generating reports without per-action approval rather than acting as a bolt-on HR chatbot.
  • Country-specific payroll connectors for Spain (a3innuva Nomina) and Germany (DATEV LODAS) give compliance-grade European coverage that US-first competitors retrofitting EMEA requirements do not match.
  • AI runs on private third-party deployments with EU scoping, Azure OpenAI GPT-4o hosted in Sweden and an EU-scoped Gemini, and the trust center states customer data is not used to train or improve those models.

Limitations

  • No published tiers beyond the $8 per user per month entry rate, so buyers cannot size a real configuration without requesting a tailored quote.
  • The vendor states no currency anywhere on its own site, so the USD basis had to be established from third-party structured data rather than from Factorial directly.
  • Long-tail integrations route through Zapier rather than native connectors, and there is no MCP server, so agent-to-platform access depends on the public API.
