Claude for PowerPoint

Claude for PowerPoint is Anthropic's native Microsoft PowerPoint add-in, part of the Claude for Office suite (alongside Claude for Excel and Claude for Word). It accelerates slide development through template-aware AI assistance: it reads an existing deck -- layouts, fonts, colors, and slide masters -- and makes edits that respect the brand formatting rather than producing generic slides that need manual reformatting. Capabilities: build new slides from a client or corporate template, iterate on a draft with pinpoint edits, generate a full deck structure from a natural language description, restructure storylines, convert bullets into diagrams, and add native PowerPoint charts. Open via the Claude sidebar in PowerPoint after installing the add-in from Microsoft AppSource. The March 11 2026 release added shared context with Claude for Excel, so a financial analyst can pull comps from Excel and have Claude drop the valuation summary into a pitch deck preserving the deck's template -- without re-explaining the dataset or breaking formatting. Pricing is bundled into Claude subscriptions: Pro $17/month annual or $20 monthly, Max from $100/month, Team $20/seat, Enterprise custom -- no separate Claude for PowerPoint subscription. Enterprise deployment supports LLM gateway routing through Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, or Microsoft Foundry. Skills (saved one-click workflows) let teams capture standardized processes like "convert this analysis to our investor template" as reusable actions. Inputs and outputs auto-delete within 30 days. Best fit: consulting and IB analysts producing pitch decks at volume, marketing teams building branded campaign decks, finance teams converting Excel analysis into board materials, and corporate communications teams maintaining deck consistency across an organization. Not appropriate for users needing pure design generation from scratch with no template (Gamma or Tome handle that better), organizations standardizing on Microsoft Copilot for PowerPoint, or teams requiring Compliance API audit logs (Claude for PowerPoint does not yet inherit custom data retention).
