Pros & Limitations
Editorial assessmentClaude for PowerPoint
Pros
- ✓Reads the deck's slide master and uses its layouts, fonts and colors, so new slides fit the brand system instead of arriving off-brand and needing manual rework.
- ✓Edits specific slides without regenerating the whole deck, converts bullets into diagrams and native PowerPoint charts, and iterates on feedback while holding template compliance.
- ✓With a Claude account, one conversation spans PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook, so figures from a workbook can land on a slide without re-explaining the data. Enabled Skills apply in each app as the work moves.
Limitations
- –Not included in Enterprise audit logs, and the add-in does not inherit custom data retention settings. Compliance API coverage exists for Enterprise organizations but is still labeled public beta.
- –Anthropic does not recommend it for replacing your judgment on design and narrative flow, and warns about prompt injection from untrusted files. It does not run on PowerPoint 2016 or 2019 perpetual licenses, iPad or Android.
- –Routing through Bedrock, Vertex AI, Foundry or an LLM gateway drops cross-app work, dictation and file uploads, and connectors and Skills are listed as coming soon there.
ClickUp Brain
Pros
- ✓Super Agents, Autopilot Agents and AI Skills act on tasks, docs and chat inside the workspace, and Enterprise Search covers the workspace plus connected apps.
- ✓ClickUp runs its own MCP server on every plan, can use external MCP servers as a client, and lists more than 1,000 integrations.
- ✓AI pricing is published, from $9 per user per month billed yearly, and that add-on includes chat with models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google.
Limitations
- –AI is sold as an add-on on top of a paid workspace plan, so the lowest full price is the $7 Unlimited plan plus the $9 Brain AI add-on per user. Free Forever gets only a one-time trial.
- –AI use is metered in Super Credits, 1,500 or 5,000 per user a month depending on the add-on, and more cost $10 per 10,000.
- –Without the Everything AI add-on the MCP server is capped at 100 calls a day on Free Forever, 300 on Unlimited and 1,000 on Business, and Enterprise pricing is by quote.
