Atlassian Rovo is the AI layer that spans the entire Atlassian ecosystem, providing intelligent search, conversational chat, and autonomous agents across Confluence, Jira, Jira Service Management, Bitbucket, Trello, and Loom. It serves engineering, product, marketing, and operations teams that already work within Atlassian's platform and want AI that understands the full context of their projects, people, and code without requiring a separate tool or manual knowledge base setup. Rovo is built on the Teamwork Graph, a contextual data layer that connects people, projects, goals, decisions, and code across all Atlassian products. This means the AI does not just search individual documents: it understands relationships between a Jira ticket, the Confluence spec that spawned it, the Bitbucket pull request that implements it, and the team members involved. Rovo Search pulls context across all connected tools to surface answers. Rovo Chat enables conversational interaction with organizational knowledge. Rovo Agents automate complex workflows like triaging backlogs, routing tasks, managing campaigns, and keeping cross-functional teams in sync with minimal human intervention. The integration depth is significant. Beyond the native Atlassian ecosystem, Rovo connects to Google Drive, GitHub, Salesforce, Slack, Figma, and other third-party tools through connectors. Atlassian also runs the Rovo MCP Server, now generally available, so external AI clients like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor can connect into Atlassian data over MCP. However, teams that do not use Atlassian products will find Rovo inaccessible, since it requires an Atlassian Cloud subscription as the foundation. There is no standalone Rovo product outside the Atlassian ecosystem. Pricing is bundled with Confluence and other Atlassian products rather than sold separately, in USD. Confluence Free ($0 for up to 10 users) does not include Rovo. Confluence Standard at $5.42/mo per user includes Rovo Search, Chat, and Agents, but metered: 25 Rovo credits and 100 indexed objects per user per month. Confluence Premium at $10.44/mo per user raises this to 150 Rovo credits and 625 indexed objects per user, and adds unlimited pages, spaces, and advanced analytics. Enterprise pricing is custom and quote-only. Teams already on Atlassian get Rovo included on Standard and above, but the per-user credit allowance, not the seat price, governs how much AI they can use. Teams that need a standalone AI workspace without Atlassian dependency should evaluate Notion AI at $10/mo or Superhuman Docs, formerly Coda, at $12/mo billed annually instead. Organizations looking for a general-purpose AI assistant for research and writing should consider Claude or ChatGPT, which work independently of any workspace platform. Teams in the Microsoft ecosystem will find Microsoft 365 Copilot provides equivalent AI capabilities with native Word, Excel, and Teams integration at $30/mo. For AI-powered project management specifically, ClickUp Brain offers similar autonomous agent capabilities at $7/mo billed annually without requiring an existing Atlassian investment. As of Q3 2026, Atlassian holds SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA certifications, and Rovo inherits the security and compliance controls of the commercial Atlassian Cloud Platform. Atlassian's FedRAMP Moderate authorization covers only the separate Atlassian Government Cloud, where Rovo and other AI features are not available, so it does not apply to Rovo. On data use, Atlassian's third-party LLM providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, operate under zero-retention agreements and do not train on customer inputs or outputs. Atlassian may, however, fine-tune its own open-source models on de-identified metadata to improve response quality, subject to admin-controlled data contribution settings.
