Botpress is an open-source conversational AI platform founded in 2017 that has become one of the leading alternatives to Voiceflow and Microsoft Copilot Studio for teams prioritizing self-hosting flexibility and platform-agnostic deployment. Botpress is not the right fit for non-technical product and design teams who need a polished visual prototyping environment. Voiceflow at $60 per editor per month on its Pro plan offers superior design-team ergonomics with version control and prototype testing built for product managers. Microsoft Copilot Studio at $200 per month for 25,000 messages is the stronger fit for Microsoft 365 organizations where SharePoint knowledge base integration and IT governance are requirements. Teams with straightforward customer support needs should evaluate Intercom Fin at $0.99 per resolution, which includes the full ticketing layer that Botpress requires custom configuration to replicate. Teams needing enterprise voice IVR should look at dedicated telephony platforms since Botpress voice is gated behind Enterprise.
