Stagewise

Stagewise is the open-source agentic IDE for creating and orchestrating multiple coding agents simultaneously, showing app previews, and running git workflows. Founded as a browser-native frontend tool and significantly pivoted, Stagewise now positions itself as a multi-agent command center where developers run parallel agents each implementing full features or fixing bugs independently. YC S25 backed, incorporated as stagewise GmbH in Bielefeld, Germany. The core workflow: run multiple agents in parallel from the Stagewise desktop app (macOS), each operating in isolated contexts with full git workflow support and live app previews showing progress as changes are made. The platform achieves an average 87.6% cache hit rate through dynamic context control, enabling long-running multi-agent tasks at materially lower cost than tools that do not optimize cache usage. Model support covers all major providers: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi, MiniMax, GLM, and more. Developers can use their own API keys (BYOK) or connect existing coding subscriptions including Claude Pro, OpenAI, and Google Gemini plans. No model lock-in. Open source under AGPL-3.0 with the full source on GitHub. Pricing has four tiers. Hobby is free with limited access to three standard models (Default, Quick, and Smart) plus BYOK for unlimited access and custom models. The Individual plan has two paid levels: Pro at $20/month and Ultra at $200/month, both unlocking all Frontier and Open-Weight models, extra credits, and custom model endpoints. Enterprise is custom-priced and adds regulatory and audit compliance, global inference and model configuration, stagewise Cloud Inference with an EU option, SSO with OIDC and SAML, SCIM provisioning, and optional self-hosting. The open-source repository remains free to self-host under AGPL-3.0, though commercial use requires license review. Data collection for service improvement requires explicit opt-in consent and is off by default per the privacy policy. Teams needing Windows or Linux support cannot use Stagewise yet, as downloads are macOS-only. Teams wanting an established multi-agent platform with commercial support and SLAs should evaluate Claude Code (from $17/mo billed annually) or Cursor (from $20/mo). The AGPL-3.0 license has copyleft implications for teams embedding or distributing Stagewise in commercial products. Current state Q3 2026: Stagewise ships as a macOS-only desktop app positioned as a next-gen agent orchestrator with full model sovereignty and local execution. Public pricing launched with Hobby (free), Pro ($20/month), Ultra ($200/month), and custom Enterprise tiers. The project has 6.7k GitHub stars under AGPL-3.0. MCP is not supported, and Windows and Linux builds are not yet available.
