Orkas

Orkas is an open-source (MIT), local-first desktop app for indie builders, one-person businesses and small teams. You direct an AI team by chat: a lead agent, Commander, dispatches specialist agents to deliver research, documents, slides, videos and websites. Its official DeepResearcher agent produces cited reports that flag contradictions and limits. Data stays local by default, and users can run managed official models or bring their own keys for providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and DeepSeek. Orkas connects to outside tools as an MCP client, from a connector catalog or by adding an MCP server. It ships for macOS and Windows, and Linux users can build it from source. Pricing is in USD and runs on credits. Free includes 500 credits when you sign in on the desktop app. Lite is $11.99 a month for 5,000 credits, Pro is $19.99 a month for 10,000 and Max is $79.99 a month for 50,000. Each plan can also be bought for a single month at $12.99, $21.99 and $82.99, and lifetime credit packs are sold separately.
