Pros & Limitations

Editorial assessment

Zoho CRM

Pros

  • The whole Zia stack lands on a single mid tier. Zia Agents, the Ask Zia assistant, Zia module and workflow creation, Zia Recommendations for CPQ and Zia for Forecasts all arrive together on Professional at $23/user/month billed annually rather than being drip-fed across three tiers.
  • Zoho publishes an official first-party MCP server with CRM as a supported service, so an external AI agent can read and act on pipeline data directly rather than through a community wrapper.
  • Fully transparent pricing with no sales-gated tier. All four paid editions are publicly priced and self-serve purchasable alongside a free edition for three users, which is rare in CRM.

Limitations

  • Standard at $14/user/month buys no Zia at all, and the vendor is inconsistent about it. The Standard plan card lists AI agents among its essentials while Zoho's complete feature list marks Zia Agents as unavailable on that edition and available from Professional at $23.
  • The prediction features are capped and gated separately. Field Prediction starts on Professional but is limited to 2 per org, and Churn Prediction requires Enterprise at $40/user/month annual, also at 2 per org, reaching 20 per org only on Ultimate at $52.
  • Smaller US partner and reference ecosystem than Salesforce or HubSpot. Fewer implementation partners and thinner brand recognition create friction for US enterprise buyers running peer reference checks.

HubSpot Sales Hub

Pros

  • Free tier plus an unusually cheap entry point. The annual Starter seat costs $7/month and month to month is $10, and the free CRM does not expire for up to two users.
  • Unified customer platform across Sales, Marketing, Service, and Content Hubs. Buyers can start with Sales Hub and expand into adjacent products with shared data and contacts, reducing the integration overhead of stitching point tools together.
  • Publishes two official MCP servers plus an MCP client on every paid Sales Hub tier, so Breeze agents can both expose CRM records to outside AI tools and reach out to Notion, Gong, Linear, G2 and Zapier. Combined with 2,000+ marketplace integrations, that is unusually deep integration surface for a CRM.

Limitations

  • Pricing scales steeply once you exit Starter. Professional at $90/seat/month and Enterprise at $150/seat/month carry mandatory one-time onboarding fees of $1,500 and $3,500 respectively, and Enterprise requires a sales conversation.
  • The $7 Starter seat requires an annual commitment. Month to month costs $10/seat, so the headline entry price is only available to teams willing to lock in for a year.
  • Breeze AI runs on a consumption-based credit model rather than flat pricing. Credits cost $9.00 per 1,000 on annual billing and $10.00 month to month, and since April 2026 Customer Agent burns 50 per resolution and Prospecting Agent 100 per lead, so heavy AI usage can outrun the included allowance and make spend hard to forecast.
  • HIPAA support is Enterprise only, enabled in Privacy and Consent settings, and HubSpot describes it as public beta, so teams handling protected health information cannot rely on it at Starter or Professional.
