Pros

• ✓Returns finished files (documents, spreadsheets, reports, web pages) with full run transcripts, rather than chat you still have to act on.
• ✓Local-first and model-agnostic: the agent loop, conversations, tokens, and keys stay in a local secret store, and you bring your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google, or run fully local and free with Ollama.
• ✓25+ native connectors (GitHub, Slack, Jira, Notion, Linear, HubSpot, Outlook, Gmail, Google Calendar) plus any MCP tool, with every write, send, and shell command approval-gated.

Limitations

• ⚠Open beta, and the Windows 10/11 build is not yet code-signed, so SmartScreen warns during installation; the signed macOS build is Apple Silicon only.
• ⚠Requires your own model API key or a local Ollama setup, so there is no zero-cost cloud option beyond running models locally.
• ⚠Independent third-party validation is still thin at roughly 3,350 GitHub stars with no G2 or Capterra presence yet, and no security certifications for regulated buyers.

Pros

• ✓Captures meeting context from Google Meet and Microsoft Teams as well as Zoom, so it is not locked to one conferencing stack the way a single-ecosystem assistant is.
• ✓Runs MCP in both directions: external AI clients can reach Zoom data through Zoom's own MCP server, and Zoom AI Studio can connect outward to external MCP servers to bring internal tools onto the platform.
• ✓Custom agents are built from a short prompt and deployed in Zoom Chat with no coding, and they are included in the paid ZoomMate subscription rather than sold as a separate tier.

Limitations

• ⚠North America only at general availability, with EMEA and APAC rollouts still to come, which blocks global teams from standardizing on it.
• ⚠ZoomMate is an add-on and requires a paid Zoom Workplace plan underneath it, so the published per-user rate is not the full cost of running it.
