Pros & Limitations
Editorial assessmentNotion AI
Pros
- ✓Notion Agent and Custom Agents act on workspace content: Notion Agent creates and edits pages and databases on request, and Custom Agents run on schedules or triggers across Notion, Slack, Mail and Calendar.
- ✓Two-way MCP support: a hosted Notion MCP server for clients such as Claude Code and Cursor, plus MCP connections out to more than 150 tools such as Linear, Figma and HubSpot from Notion Agent and Custom Agents.
- ✓Business includes Notion Agent, Custom Agents, AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search in the seat price, with 1,500 Standard and 500 Select AI credits per member each month and the Auto model router as the default.
Limitations
- –Free and Plus include only a limited trial of Notion AI: Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search start on Business at $20 per member per month billed annually.
- –Included Standard and Select credits are per member, reset monthly and cannot be pooled, so heavy Custom Agent use needs Notion credits that an admin buys at $10 per 1,000, and admin spending limits are still listed as coming soon.
- –Zero data retention with LLM providers and HIPAA eligibility under a BAA are Enterprise-only: other plans allow up to 30-day retention, and beta features are outside the BAA.
OpenWorker
Pros
- ✓Returns finished files and security fixes as pull requests, with full run transcripts, rather than chat you still have to act on.
- ✓Local-first and model-agnostic, with conversations, tokens and keys kept in a local secret store, and since version 0.3.0 an agent's commands can run in a sandbox that sees only the session's folders and allow-listed hosts.
- ✓25+ native connectors plus any MCP tool, with writes, sends, and shell commands approval-gated by default and every tool call logged.
Limitations
- –Open beta: Windows 10/11 builds are not yet code-signed, so SmartScreen warns during install, and the website still lists Windows as coming soon. The README says signing is in progress.
- –Requires your own model API key or a local Ollama setup, and model usage is billed by that provider rather than included. The OpenShell sandbox also needs Docker installed.
- –Independent validation is still early: no G2, Capterra, or Product Hunt presence yet, and no audited certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
