Pros

• ✓Rovo runs Model Context Protocol both ways: an official remote MCP server for external clients, and nine out-of-the-box agents that consume third-party MCP servers inside Confluence and Jira.
• ✓The Teamwork Graph connects people, projects, goals and code across Atlassian products, so answers carry context from a ticket to the spec and the pull request behind it.
• ✓Rovo Standard is sold as its own app at $5 per user per month per organization, so staff who hold no Jira or Confluence license can still use search, chat and agents.

Limitations

• ⚠Rovo credits rather than the seat price cap usage: 25 per user per month on Standard, 70 on Premium and 150 on Enterprise, and extra usage stays off until an admin enables it.
• ⚠The nine third-party MCP agents require Rovo Premium or Enterprise, and a site admin must enable each agent's MCP server before anyone can use it.
• ⚠HIPAA coverage is scoped, and Rovo MCP, the CLI, the Chrome extension, the mobile app and the desktop app are all out of scope for protected health information.

Pros

• ✓Built on the same Claude Agent SDK as Claude Code, so it inherits that agentic foundation behind an interface aimed at people who do not write code, which is the technical bar that kept Claude Code to engineers.
• ✓Plan-then-execute approval gating with user-controlled folder access gives real oversight without killing autonomy. Cowork shows the plan first, waits for approval on significant actions, and can be redirected mid-task.
• ✓Microsoft licensed the underlying technology for Microsoft Copilot Cowork at $30/mo, and SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, HIPAA, GDPR and CCPA are all confirmed on Anthropic's own trust and enterprise surfaces.

Limitations

• ⚠No free tier and no standalone trial, so evaluating Cowork means buying a Pro subscription first. Anthropic publishes no free path to try it.
• ⚠Token consumption is materially higher than regular Chat, and Anthropic says so on the pricing card itself. Sustained daily agentic work pushes a Pro user toward the Max tier.
• ⚠Cowork activity is not yet captured in audit logs or the Compliance API. Anthropic states this on its own product page, and it is a real gap for procurement teams in regulated industries that need full action traceability.
