Warp is an AI-native terminal that has grown into a full agentic development environment, rebuilding the command line around modern UX patterns and integrated AI: agentic coding, cloud agents, codebase indexing, and conversational assistance directly in the terminal. Developers who want a free, lightweight terminal will find iTerm2, macOS Terminal, or Tabby sufficient, and Warp only earns its price if the agentic workflows are genuinely used. Windows support, while available, still lags macOS and Linux in polish, which constrains cross-platform team adoption.
