LexisNexis Lexis+ with Protégé (formerly Lexis+ AI) combines agentic AI workflows with authoritative legal content. Drafts, researches, and analyses cases. Custom pricing.

Lexis+ with Protégé is LexisNexis's flagship legal AI platform, replacing Lexis+ AI as of February 2026. Protégé is the agentic AI assistant powering conversational research, document drafting, and analysis grounded in LexisNexis's authoritative content library and Shepard's Citations. The platform launched with 300+ pre-built workflows covering motions, discovery, transactional documents, and contract redlining, plus a no-code Custom Workflow Builder for firm-specific playbooks. Three core agent types operate within the system: a Legal Research Agent (decomposes prompts and grounds answers in legal authorities), a Web Search Agent (open-web context), and a Customer Document Research Agent (analyses uploaded firm documents). Integrates with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Outlook), iManage, SharePoint, OpenText, and Google Drive. LexisNexis partners with Anthropic, OpenAI, Microsoft, AWS, and Mistral for multi-model coverage; users can toggle between legal-tuned and general-purpose models. Customer base includes Am Law 50 firms, corporate legal departments, and law schools (Berkeley, Notre Dame). Pricing is custom. Call 1-888-AT-LEXIS or use the contact form. Customer data is never used to train AI models. Setup typically runs 2-4 weeks with vendor support. Best fit for firms already on the LexisNexis platform who want a unified AI workflow layer.

Pros & Limitations

Editorial assessment

Pros

  • Outputs grounded in LexisNexis content + Shepard's Citations means verifiable legal citations rather than potential AI hallucinations
  • 300+ pre-built workflows + Custom Workflow Builder reduces setup time vs starting from scratch
  • Microsoft 365 + DMS integrations (iManage, SharePoint, OpenText, Google Drive) means AI works inside existing legal workflows

Limitations

  • Custom pricing without published reference rates makes budgeting harder than tools with public pricing
  • Most useful when bundled with existing LexisNexis subscriptions -- standalone value depends on content licenses
  • Newer Custom Workflow Builder is still maturing -- out-of-the-box workflows are stronger than custom-built ones today

Autonomous rateThree agentic systems run autonomously within Protégé: the Legal Research Agent decomposes prompts and grounds answers in legal authorities, the Web Search Agent retrieves open-web context, and the Customer Document Research Agent reasons across firm-uploaded documents. Output requires attorney review before filing or client delivery.
